Electronic Prescription Service

At Church Lane Health Centre we have the technology to send your acute and repeat prescription round to a pharmacy of your choice electronically.

This will save patients time picking up their prescription and avoid prescriptions getting lost.

We are advising all of our patients to use the service to save time.

If you live in the area but work away in England and getting your repeat prescription is a hassle then we can send your repeat prescription electronically to a pharmacy near to were you work. You can find out if a pharmacy has the Electronic Prescription Service installed by going to the Health & Social Care Information Centre website and searching for the EPS Deployment map or clicking on the link below. Otherwise please ask a receptionist at your usual surgery and we will enquire for you.

Patients on Controlled Drug's however will still have to have to come to the surgery and sign for their prescription due to Public Health legislations.

Over 700 GP practices are currently using the system sending prescriptions to 9000 pharmacies in England.

On the 31st May 2013 over 13,000,000 prescriptions have been sent using the Electronic Prescription Service.

However! Please remember to put your repeat prescription in to the surgery as usual, this part of the process has not changed. Online ordering of your repeat prescription will be coming soon.

Please contact your usual surgery to nominate a pharmacy you would like to send your prescription to.
