Safeguarding
Any organisation or person who comes into contact with a child or adult at risk of abuse or neglect has a responsibility and a role to play to keep them safe. In other words, safeguarding is everyone’s business.
The legal framework to protect children is contained in “Working Together to Safeguard Children 2015” and the "Care Act 2014" gave safeguarding adults a legal framework for the first time.
All members of staff are made aware of the internal arrangements for recording concerns about a child, young person or an adult at risk.
The practice complies with the procedures in place locally, in addition to national guidelines.
Worried about a child?
If the child is in immediate danger, call the emergency services using 999.
If you are worried about the safety of a child or young person please contact the Central Duty Team on 03000 41 11 11 or central.duty@kent.gov.uk to make a referral.
If you need to make contact out of working hours please call the Out of Hours Service on 03000 41 91 91.
